Along with the more drastic competition and the development of internet in telecommunication field, the profit of traditional telecommunication services is getting descended, and the market capacity is getting saturated as well. At the same time, the success of internet services and short message services has brought people a splendid expectation for value-added services. Compared with traditional services, the value-added services must deal with much more applications, which leads a need to consider more questions and design more complicated interface protocols to solve the problem of isomers in equipments and systems from different departments when value-added services are devised. The purpose of grid is making the whole internet a huge super computer, and achieving the all-around partake of computing, memory, data, information, knowledge, expert and so on. All of these features definitely meet the requirements of the development of value-added services.In view of the defects of existing framework of telecommunication value-added services system, this paper analyzes the development of the existing value-added services system and the sharing capacity of grid for net resources. Combining with the service-oriented system framework of the grid, the paper presents the advantages of the grid applying in the telecom value-added services. Then, the paper gives a telecommunication value-added service model based on grid technology combined with the features of grid and the demand of value-added service. This model implements the synthetical management of services and the uniform management of contents, besides it avoids the service island and makes the structure of network easier. It also abstracts public open ability and provides the standard connect method of services. Consequently, this model has the features of distributed and open, and its operation mechanism is flexible. Therefore, it could meet the demand of modern telecom value-added service more suitably, witch are extendable, transplantable, easy and having short periods. This model shows the feasibility of implementing grid in telecommunication field, and brought the telecom data service based on IP a new future consequently. The system structure and the operation mechanism of this model are described in detail, and the grid service instances of the telecom value-added service based on OGSA are presented. At last, the analysis and description of the implementation of typical value-added services in the model system is also given detailedly, and some involved significant methods are described as well.
