| As a popular media discourse, news planning is now regarded as a symbol of core competence and a powerful weapon for media competition, though many people, especially scholars, show their suspicions for its side effects derived from media practice. In mass media perspective, the function of news planning is reflected in two aspects: agenda setting and the changes of media ideas about audience.Based on investigations and nearly ten years' data on Yangcheng Evening News, the author figures out that the news planning of the newspaper has become a regular process of media practice with self-consciousness and individuality from the new century. By means of historical review, case study, qualitative and quantitative analyses, the thesis points out the advantages and disadvantages of the newspaper's news planning, trying to find out its innovations, problems and solutions respectively, and to post the relationship between the news planning and the Resurgence of Yangcheng Evening News. |
