Page style is an important composing part of newspaper style. It is the page characteristics, which are accumulated and agglomerated in the long-term practice of page editing and typesetting. It is a symbol of the individuation and maturation of a newspaper. Page style is embodied in the factors of page content and its representing forms. It is an outcome of form and content, which combine perfectly with each other. The shaping of page style could make a newspaper differentiate it from other newspapers from the whole instead of the part and from the long term instead of the short term, which would contribute to build a stable reading group of a newspaper.The shaping process of page style is an initiative and conscious constructing one. The page style of every newspaper with a perdurable development is originated from a certain tradition, bearing some succession. On the basis of respecting tradition and obeying rules, page style should make innovations and make progress with time going on.Since Yangcheng Evening News started publication, the art of its page has always been changed and gone ahead with social developments, the page style of which has experienced a transformation from tradition to modernization. Especially in recent years, in the impulse of such factors as the increasing of social information requirement, technical progress and media competition, Yangcheng Evening News has been making a constant page style reformation and innovation, successfully constructing a unique modern page style and winning the readers' recognition. However, it needs a further improvement in the aspects of effective information capacity of a page, use of picture, color and stability.
