With the rapid development of the design technique of the integrated circuit and semiconductor manufacturing technology, system on a chip design becomes dominant, which means the arrival of SOC era. Leon2 is a high performance, free RISC CPU, which developed by Gaisler Research. The processor has a full implementation of AMBA, which became one of the most popular standardization of on-chip bus. PCI bus has already widely used in PC, workstation, notebook, etc, and also IIC bus has entered into general use in peripheral equipment. So the design of AHB-PCI and APB-IIC IP cores become an extremely urgent problem. The work of this paper is to verify Leon2 and design a IP core about the AHB bus and PCI bus protocol translation. In this thesis, the design was described with Verilog hardware language, on Modelsim and Synplify software platform, and realized the IP core, adopted the top-down design method, including such module as interface of PCI, AHB interface, AHB arbiter, AHB address decoder and FIFO, etc. And also, the design has been simulated and synthesized successfully. At last, given a design method about APB-IIC core.
