With the development of Micro-electronics Technologies,system on chip design becomes dominant,which means the arrival of SOC era. At present,most of the SOC chip in the market are based on commercial processor core,it needs expensive License fee. To reduce the cost of the chip,chose a opencore processor to replace the commercial processor and do some optimization,has real meaning.The work of this paper is to design a simplified SOC based on LEON2,built up the whole hardware platform and RTL simulation environment,and using FPGA to implement and prove out the feasibility of this system. The LEON2 embedded processor which developed by Gaisler Research and published as open source,acts as the processor of this system,we must do further configure in the fundamental of mostly condense. In the peripheral equipment,we fully implement the AMBA AHB-Lite bus and redesigned simplify peripheral equipment. When the system is implemented by FPGA,the software which programmed into the system can exact run,and peripheral equipments can output right data we needed. The condensed SOC designed in this research is strongly configurable and widely expandable,which makes this SOC to fit different applications in the future.The paper first simply introduces the current SOC design technology and the development direction,then analyzes the hardware foundation of the system, focusing on the designing and implementing of the SOC hardwares,in the end,this paper detailed introduces the whole SOC system design,simulation platform build and it's FPGA implement.
