With the development of the modern fiber communication network, bottle-neck of bandwidth and instability of traffic have turned into the main problem of Networks. The way to overcome the problem of the electric bottle-neck is processing the optical signal directly, that is to say, to build all-optical network. Optical switch and optical switch matrix play an important role in the all-optical network. They mainly apply to the selection of routing and the wavelength,and to the function of OXC as well as self-reparation and protection. With the rapid increase of communication rate, it has a higher demand on the switching speed of optical switch. SOA has the advantages of low requisite power, small volume and easy integration. As a result, many kinds of interferometers based on SOA show a high application potential in the field of all-optical signal processing.The paper designs and develops the direct current (DC) drive circuit of SOA to realize the cross phase modulation (XPM) for dual-loop optical buffer (DLOB) in the lab.The paper designs and develops the high-speed optical switch based on SOA,with the speed less than 3ns. Also, the paper presents and solves main key technology of system manufacturing. For the first time, according to the equivalent model of SOA semiconductor diode, the model of inductance coupling drive circuit is proposed, which can help to enhance the speed of inductance coupling drive circuit greatly. The experimental results prove the correctness of this theory. The model and conclusions given by this paper have important guidance meaning to the design of high-speed O/E conversion electric circuit based on semiconductor appliances.
