Design And Implement Of Multimedia Messaging Service Based On 3GPP SMIL

Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) is a new developing technology that is based on Short Messaging Service (SMS) and Enhanced Messaging Service (EMS). MMS is the high-layer application program that encapsulations on the WAP Protocol.Using this high-layer application program can implement multimedia message transmission including image,audio,video,data,text and so on.Developing on J2ME platform,using 3GPP SMIL as the representation of multimedia data, through calling function module,users can edit MMS flexibly and freely,generate MMS automatically,read and write MMS file,send and receive MMS and the like,so it can make system meet different users'requirement.The first chapter introduces basic concept,feature and some specialities of MMS, then analyzes the application domains of MMS.Some technical and the key technology about SMIL, J2ME, and WAP will be introduced in Chapter 2.The MMS system, based on 3GPP SMIL, includes four modules: user management module,SMIL module,file management module and send/receive module. Chapter 3 introduces the architecture design of system,detailed design of different functional modules, especially the design and implement of SMIL module, which is the mainly illustrated part.The Chapter 4 introduces network structure,principle of working, the method and realization that how to pack a SMIL file to a MMS file.The Chapter 5 introduces the realization result of the MMS application program that is based on 3GPP SMIL, interface realization of different functional module and data structure that system uses and so on.Basing on 3GPP SMIL the design of MMS can satisfy 3G mobile phone throughly, and the application program that is developed on J2ME platform has better transplant, which makes users experience colorful MMS adequately, so it has widely business prospect and huge market value.
