The Implementation Of 3GPP In MMS

MMS (multimedia messaging service) is a mobile data service defined by WAPforum and 3GPP. It can contain image, audio, video, animation in addition to plain text.This paper introduces the architecture of MMS firstly. There are two ways of theimplementation of MMS, it can be implemented over WAP protocol or IP protocol. Wediscuss both of them. The 3GPP standard defines the minimum set of media formssupported by MMS in which H.263,MPEG-4,AMR,AMR-WB,AAC are included .Then this paper mainly introduces the structure of 3GPP file, the 3GPP file codec waysand the ways of audio and video codec algorithm supported by 3GPP standard.Furthermore, the design of 3GPP system including the structured software method of3GPP system, the process of the file codec, the module interfaces and realizationschemes for synchronization are studied.
