Research On The Key Technology Of Home Network Based On Both Bluetooth And IEEE 802.11b

The research subject of this thesis is part of the National High Technology Research and Development Program of China (863 Program, No. 2003AA1Z1110) and the High Technology Research and Development Program of Jiangsu Province (No. BG2004002). In the thesis, some key technologies of the home network which is based on both Bluetooth technology and IEEE 802.11b are chiefly studied. Based on the in-depth study of home network framework and communication protocol, an embedded home network gateway based on both Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11b is developed, and the design and development of a main-gateway in home network is also introduced. Furthermore, the composing of a Bluetooth home sub-network which consists of IAC (Information Apparatus Controller), AP (Access Point) and IA (Information Apparatus) is actualized.The thesis is divided into six chapters as follows.In Chapter 1, the background of the research and the structure of the thesis are introduced.In Chapter 2, the background of some technologies which are correlative with the research subject is briefly discussed.In Chapter 3, the composing solution of home network is analyzed, and the function of home main-network and home sub-network is presented.In Chapter 4, the design of integrating Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11b interface into the home gateway is presented, and a series of drivers are also developed. Moreover, the coexistence of Bluetooth and IEEE 802.11b is focused.In Chapter 5, the main-gateway accessing Internet in home network is particularly emphasized. The software design of the main-gateway is described and the solutions of two key problems about inter-process communication are analyzed. The design of the device accessing PSTN is also mentioned.In Chapter 6, a particular description of the hardware and software actualization of IAC and IA in home sub-network is given after the analysis of UDCP protocol.
