With the development of computer, communication and control technique, smart home is increasingly attracting public attention. Home Control Network (HCN) is adopting wireless technique instead of traditional wire technique, which can avoid the problems caused by wiring and adding new devices. Owing to advantages of low power consumption, low cost, small size and open standard, Bluetooth, as a short-range wireless communication technology, has been in widespread use, especially in audio and file data transmission fields. However, the complex extension of network and low transmission efficiency of master-slave mode limit the development of Bluetooth in HCN. On the basis of constructing Bluetooth HCN, this paper takes real-time and other performance of Bluetooth network as research object, and explores optimization ways to meet the control needs of home environment.Aiming at the needs of smart home and technique application, the development of smart home and research status at home and abroad is briefly introduced. Based on comparing and analyzing 802.11b, Zigbee and other wireless techniques which can be used in HCN, a proposal that uses computer as home control server is proposed, and the driver and communication program are designed following Host Control Interface (HCI) standard. Through optimizing protocol stack, selecting reasonable packet type and providing device register and management, the time of program's running and device connection can be reduced. Researching on Bluetooth polling algorithm, this paper puts forward two Adaptive Weighted Polling (AWP) schemes, namely AWP based on polling success rate (AWPS) and AWP based on packet proportion (AWPP). These two schemes compute weight of each node to determine the polling order on the basis of polling success rate, vacant rate and packet proportion of last polling period, vacant rate of last polling period respectively. According to network conditions, the schemes can regular the weighted balance factor and switch the polling status of slave node. In addition, reliability and security of Bluetooth HCN are analyzed. Fault diagnosis, selectable secondary check, authentication and DES encryption are added to provide more reliable and safer environment.The test of real-time performance proves that the two AWP schemes can reduce the packet average delay, and increase the polling success rate, and improve the real-time performance of Bluetooth HCN. The comprehensive test of HCN shows that encryption and check process have little effect on real-time performance when there are fewer devices.
