The research subject of this thesis is a part of National High Technology Research and Development Plan (863 Program) (No. 2003AA1Z1110) and High Technology Research Program of Jiangsu Province (No. BG2004002). After deeply studying the standards of Home Network Platform and software development methods of embedded wireless equipment based onμClinux operation system, emphasis is laid upon some key technologies in design and implementation of the home control sub-network and home gateway. The communication protocol architecture of this home control sub-network based on Bluetooth technology is proposed, and three main embedded implementation schemes of Bluetooth protocol are all applied to the design of home control sub-network. Together with the appliance control protocol promoted by appliance manufacturer, all functions of the home control sub-network are implemented. As an example, the implementation of access control from Internet to home control sub-network is an extension of the functions of this sub-network, and at the same time, this is also a validation of the architecture of home network.The thesis is divided into six chapters as follows.In chapter 1, the background of the research task and the architecture of this thesis are introduced.In chapter 2, the characters, applications, protocol architecture of Bluetooth are briefly presented. After that, the evolvement, classifying, standardizing of home network and the advantages of applying Bluetooth to home network are given as well.In chapter 3, based on the study of the net-forming scheme and detailed descriptions in the standards of Home Network Platform, partition of home network is proposed according to functional logic, and they are home main network, home supervising network and home control sub-network.In chapter 4, the development environment and some key technologies used in this research are introduced. The hardware design of home gateway is briefly described on the basis of the HHCO5272-R1 hardware platform. The methods of establishing the embedded development environment and developing software inμClinux are discussed. CSR Bluetooth development platform and three main implement schemes of Bluetooth protocol stack are analyzed respectively.In chapter 5, design and implementation methods of home control sub-network based on Bluetooth are described firstly, then the problems rose in the course of development and their solutions are discussed. After comparing two different net-forming schemes of home control sub-network, the realization of star-shape home control sub-network, including its protocol architecture, software and hardware, are illustrated in detail.In chapter 6, the embedded Web server technology and the methods of porting BOA Web server into embedded development platform are introduced. The implementation of access control from Internet to home control sub-network is presented subsequently.
