The Students' Integrated Information Analysis System Of Multi-dimensions Data Model

It is the main task for the vocational higher education institutions to foster applied talents with advanced skills. For such types of institutions, large quantities of issues should be paid special attention to, for example, what skills students should master and how various factors may influence student's skills and so on. At present, on the campuses of most domestic colleges and universities merely apply such information management systems as student's information management system, educational administration information management system and employment information management system. Consequently, the long-term operation of these systems has accumulated the mass data. However, the lack of information consciousness and the technical platform results in dull superficial information, which is obtained by administrators through simple statistics or arrangement. Vast amounts of information behind these data haven't been put into further analysis and application.This thesis, giving a close and all-round analysis of the students' management accumulated for decades, finding the critical factors affecting students' score and the pattern of student's employment, provides the decision-makers with basis for the reform of training, teaching and curriculum. On one hand, with the help of database, this system draws useful data from many transactions processing database and administers the vast amount of data efficiently after the operation of sorting out and transferring. On the other hand, with the application of OLAP technology, multi-dimension database is set up on the base of database and data warehouse. Via different means such as rotate, slice, dice and drill, the thesis finds out the key factors that influence students score and employment and therefore provides more valuable data information for the decision-makers so as to make correct decisions in operating colleges.To deal with the above, this thesis involves the following tasks: the deep research of the database and OLAP technology; the building of multi-dimension data model of data warehouse about the students score and employment according to the decision demand; the design of ADO MD data interface and the realization of OLAD and ADO MD interface.Though merely an attempt, there is still some innovation in this thesis, namely, the application of database and OLAP technology in training and teaching in vocational higher education institutions. It is expected that this technique can be widely used in the field of educational management.
