Because of that the Digital Visual Interface (DVI) have great advantage in transmission of signal, picture processing, and speed. So it is used more and more. And it can provide a transmission speed which is 165GB/S for interconnection between host computer and display device. Reduce the power consumption and electromagnetism jam in the processing signal transmission. It have become a interface standard between host computer and display device.DVI-IP core include two blocks of transmitter and receiver. According to specification of DVI1.0, this paper study and design the circuit of encoder and decoder which is included in transmitter and receiver. And this paper have study the function of encode/decode circuit, the logic process. Finish the structure design Using the SMIC 0.13um process and simulations.The encoding circuit is a part of transmitter. It's function is encoding the pixel data (8bit) and control data (2bit) to 10bit and transmit the signal to serial device. What is noticed in process of encoding is the function of parameter"cnt". It is used to control the DC balance. It can control the number of"1"and"0"hold balance. The decoding circuit is a part of receiver. It's function is decoding the data(10bit) which is transmitted from transmitter. It decode the encoded code(10bit) to the pixel data(8bit),control data(2bit) and enable signal(1bit). The logic state of DE select which signal is valid from pixel data and control data. When the DE is high the pixel data is the valid output but when the DE is low the control data is valid output.DVI1.0 require the timing strictly. It require the minimum inactive time is 128Tpixel,the maximal encode/serializer pipeline delay is 64Tpixel,the maximal decode/de-serializer pipeline delay is 64Tpixel.The result of simulation indicate that the designed circuit can fulfill the function as the DVI1.0 requiring. It have the ability of transmission signal distant, anti-jamming of electromagnetism and so on. So it can meet the require of interface function.
