Infrared image simulation is an important subject in infrared research and the key technique in infrared imaging guidance simulation. Starting with the basic principles of infrared imaging, a novel infrared simulation scheme, based on the measured data, is proposed in this paper.First, the measured voltage is converted to the equivalent temperature of a blackbody by calibrating the thermal imaging device, the spatial transfer effect is eliminated by the modification model of the system effect which is based on the theory of modulation transfer function, and the original radiance data of the target surface is obtained through the modification model of the atmosphere effect, a model that is based on the propagation characteristic of the radiance through the atmosphere. Then, a 3-D geometry model of the target is constructed, and with mapping the original radiance data to it, the infrared radiance characteristic of the target in the 3-D space is reconstructed. And the dynamic infrared images of the target are generated using the programmable pipeline. Finally, based on the infrared radiometric equation of the sensor, the infrared image simulation radiance models of the atmosphere path, the sky and the sun are set up, and the effect on the simulated infrared images of the environment radiance is analyzed.
