The real-time infrared image generation is one of the important researches in the field of infrared simulation technology. In this paper, a method of inversion for infrared target and generation of real-time IR image based on measured data were studied.Firstly, the basic theories of infrared image simulation were discussed. Further more, the process of IR image simulation based on measured data is given out. Secondly, according to calibration of the measured, inversion of system effects and atmospheric effects, the real infrared radiance of target surface were obtained; the spectrum of a plane trail fire was analyzed during the course of atmospheric effects inversion. The inversion of selective radiator was single treated. Then, the rigid part of target was mapped to the original radiance data directly, and the non-rigid part was simulation by the method of billboard. The radiation fields of target were reconstructed in the 3D space. Finally, using Direct3D programming to GPU, the dynamic IR images of the target were generated. The atmospheric effects was simulated during the process; and the display process of IR image was optimized.
