| Recent years, the competition among media for contending for audience and market share becomes more and more intensive. Sports news is an important spotlight for media to obtain more market share and attract more audience. Sports news page is a good means for comprehensive newspapers to attract more readers and enlarge circulation. However, with the rise of professional sports newspapers and magazines, sports news reporting of TV and network, the prospect of sports news page of comprehensive newspapers is being worried about. Under such circumstance, how to shape its own characteristics and stand out in the competition becomes a hot topic that pressmen and academia concern about.In this article, I make full use of theories of Mass Communication, Psychics, Social psychology, News editing to probe into the reason why sports news page of comprehensive newspapers prevail. Then, I briefly summarize the current development condition of sports news pages of comprehensive newspapers of different types in China, study the characteristics in content and arrangement of sports news pages in content analysis. After that, I conduct canonical analysis on several comprehensive newspapers in Guangdong Province from the point of view of page style, information capacity, title editing, picture arrangement. etc. Then, I analyze the competition situation that sports news page of comprehensive newspapers face and the deficiency of them by comparison and content analysis, and the prospect of them. At last, I make my own suggestion on how to make them competitive and attractive.Taking newspapering in Guangdong as the original version, in this article, I stress on the study of sports news pages of comprehensive newspapers in China, and probe into the reporting of them theoretically and practically. On basis of that, I make some suggestions on how to reply to the competition from other sports media and develop them. |
