MPEG (Moving Picture Experts Group) and VCEG (Video Coding Experts Group) jointly developed the H.264 video coding standard. The standard is more superior than the standard H.263 and MPEG video compression coding standard. Facts have proved that the H.264 coding standard savings more bit-stream than any other H Series, and its algorithm is more simple than MPEG-4. H.264 compression ratio and image quality, and network adaptability.Anti-dropping and error resilient aspects certain advantages. The rapid development of video coding algorithm is also expanding rapidly in the development of VLSI technology. This complicated video codec standard hardware with a powerful guarantee that enable greater integration of the video processing chip and higher performance. In recent years, the FPGA (Field Programable Gate Array) device applications continues to grow. This device is extremely flexible and can provide a common platform for rapid application-specific and repetition in the design iteration can be programmed so that they quickly become the backbone of the field of electronic systems design. The use of FPGA-based development board certification H.264 video decoder can effectively shorten the development cycle and closer to the products that can be said is the best solution. This paper describes the overall design verification and debugging process of an FPGA-based H.264 video decoder platform. This paper is involved in the research work to meet H.264 decoder transmission, processing and display requirements. After fully understand of the H.264 communication protocol and the the corresponding level of the decoder,The author gives a framework for the rational design and optimization program. The development platform structure...
