With the development of IC design and manufacture technology,the design basedon the IP(Intelleetual Property) core has become an inevitable for IC(Integrated Crcuit)core. It is promising to develop IP cores with independent intellectual propertyright.The IP core has high versatility and flexibility,can be set different function byprogramming with software,and used invarious embedded MCU system.Microcontroller refers to the integration of CPU, RAM, ROM, counters/timersand variety of I/O interfaces into one chip, and its application almost covers everyaspects of human life. The MCU IP core design based on HDL can easily cutdepending on the application. It is easy to debug and integrate.In this paper, an8-bit Microcontroller is designed and implemented which is builtby researching the Microcontroller system structure and the Microcontroller systemscheduling and the instruction set of the8051series carefully. This Microcontroller isan8micro controller completely compatible8051set of instructions.So we can use thecompilers of8051to program.All the modules are described by the verilog HDL language in the ISE, and everymodule is relised by the TOP-DOWN method base on the digital design. For exampleDECODER, ALU, INTERRUPT and UART.Futher more, SPI serial Bus are alsodesigned.Finally I download the IP core into the FPGA on the platform Xilinx Virtex-5andthe IP core is verified.
