Study On Self-directed Learning Of Academic Librarians

Learning society is associated with lifelong learning and self-directed learning (SDL). The construction of learning society is aimed to develop SDL skills, with which the learners can make their own decisions on learning. Research on self-directed learning (SDL) has become a central theme in adult education and distance education.According to the fact of academic librarians and their learning conditions domestically, self-improvement should be pinpointed as necessary. In this paper, the theory of self-directed learning is introduced to the learning of academic librarians.Today, Academic libraries are facing continuously changing and advancing, dealing with novelty is an important aspect of academic librarians. It is essential that the academic librarians get the opportunities of self-directed learning. For academic librarians, the ability to direct and regulate one's own learning experience is crucial to success, so academic library should advocate librarians to enhance the ability of self-directed learning.The purpose of this paper is to suggest a web-based learning network on which the self-directed learning of academic librarians can be put to use so as to accomplish the goals of the learner and of the libraries.This paper includes eight sections. Based on the domestic conditions of domestic academic librarians and their learning, the first section brings up the concepts of SDL for academic librarians. The second section introduces the advantage and necessity for the SDL of librarians.
