On The Watchdog Role Of Press Supervision From The Vision Of Media Ecology

As one of the most important function of mass media, watchdog role has played a great role in social progress and development. Meanwhile, theory research on watchdog role has been more and more with the step of supervision practice. Making a comprehensive view of theory research between China and western countries, the latter pay more attention to theory of politics, sociology, social psychology, while Chinese researchers highlight researching under a common ideology of socialism, which can be divided into two categories, one of them is from theory that pays attention to property, attribute, basic principle and importance of press supervision, the other is from practice that pays attention to strategy of press supervision, especially to how to avoid risk because of bondage of current system and non-criterion operation, which makes both of them do littler research on good interrelation between social environment and press supervision.According to analysis above, the article is based on the whole social ecology, which try to research out-environment of Chinese press supervision, how to make interrelation between two sides and the tension between press supervision and other social power in the course of building harmonica society.The article adopted a new field of vision— media ecology, which can be used to research interrelation between press supervision and social environment. Firstly, the article indicates similarities and differences among different fields of vision, also, it gave a detailed explain of what special superiority media ecology has. With the help of theory of media ecology, we can know what press supervision is doing currently and what kind of influence different medias make.
