Every forest eco-station has accumulated plentiful data in kinds of types through various kinds of experiments, observation and research.Because of the backward means in data processing, the truly useful information has not been posted, thus isolated each eco-station as a single information island, making it hard to share information with each other. On the other hand, observation results database can not intuitively reflact the sample plot and its background characteristic.According to this reality, this paper is proposed to set up an WebGIS-based information management system of forest Eco-station.Guided by the software engineering theory, taking Jiangxi dagangshan forest Eco-station as an example, the system is designed with GIS technology, network technology, database technology. It is composed of basic data information management subsystem and WebGIS subsystem. With the introduction of WebGIS technology into the management of forest eco-station resources and the ability of massive data processing and powerful spatial analysis using GIS technology, the system has improved the methods in the management of forest eco-station resources and extended the range of data communication.Observed data, attribution data and spatial data are well organized by the system. The query and analysis results are shown in GUI using HTML, Visual C#.NET, WebGIS software SuperMap IS.NET and SQL Server2000.So,every user can get these data at any place with an Internet Browser. It is worthwhile in accelerating the long-term location study of our country, sustainable development of forestry, national constructions of ecological environment and scientific and technical innovation.
