The Design Of An ARM-based Multimedia System For Mobile Phone

An ARM-based multimedia system for mobile telephone is designed and discussed in this thesis. Such a system is capable of taking photos with a resolution of 1.3 mega pixels, playing back MP3, AMR, and AAC format media stream, and recording music in the AMR or AAC format.The architecture of common mobile phones and multimedia mobile phones are presented first. Then, a design of an ARM-based multimedia system is proposed and the communication interfaces between base band and the ARM processor W99702 are described. A complete software design is also given. Many functional blocks are discussed along with the description of the general software structure. The complete system is prototyped and tested.
