With widely application of bluetooth technology, the bluetooth security becomes the hot spot. Analyzing and summing up the security flaws, a security model of bluetooth baseband is designed with the thought of division of hardware and software. The model specifies the necessary security mechanisms and security services of baseband. According to the model and bluetooth specification, the system framework of secure bluetooth baseband controller is designed, which shows the implementation modality and position of the security mechanisms. Then, bluetooth baseband protocol and baseband security scheme are designed independently, and the prototype system of secure bluetooth baseband controller is implemented.Aiming at the problem of lack of integrity authentication on baseband packet header, an algorithm of short message integrity authentication is designed. On the basis of the algorithm, an integrity authentication scheme of bluetooth baseband packet header is designed. It can ensure the integrity of packet header with high transmission efficiency and low computing cost.As the security intensity of E0 algorithm is low, the method that the packet payload is encrypted with AES instead is proposed. The flows of encryption and decryption and method of key management are designed in detail. This scheme can ensure the baseband packet payload transmitted in security.As the location privacy of bluetooth can be easily attacked, through the analysis of the use of bluetooth adress, a model of hierarchical address is established. On the basis of the model, a scheme for protecting bluetooth location privacy is designed. Compared with others, this scheme can not only resist eavesdroping, replay attack, frequency hop sequence attack, conversation address tracking attack, dictionary attack and man in the middle attack, but also need low computing cost and storage.On the basis of above work, the prototype system of secure bluetooth baseband controller is implemented in FPGA. And then, the function of link control, the function of link transmission, the speed of link transmission, the function of integrity authentication, the function of encryption and decryption and the function of location privacy protection of the prototype system are tested. The results show that every module works properly, and the indicators of the prototype system achieve the desired design goals. The contents of this paper are beneficial to enhancing the security level of bluetooth technology and laying the foundation for the applications in the domain which is sensitive to security.
