ITS applications are commonly composed of many subsystems that must work together but operate independently. To maximize the benefit of such ITS applications, it is paramount to build a common information platform to integrate all the traffic information.ITS Virtual Common Information Platform presented a new and more suitable scheme of data sharing between ITS subsystems by integrating distributed storage and centralized control of data. Whereas the VCIP I system still has some performance defaults, this thesis discusses the information integrated techniques on VCIP in details. By applying these techniques, VCIP II system lightens the platform's loads, supports numerous user accessing the platform, improves the efficiency and performance of users'data query. After analyzing the information integrated requirements on VCIP, the thesis confirms the VCIP's data applying mode and its integrated mapping mode in the mass. Based on the analysis, the thesis ameliorates VCIP's architecture by using excellent heterogeneous data integration technique and adopting wrapper framework to wrapper datasources. Aiming at the performance problem in VCIP I system, the thesis designs VCIP's query optimizing strategies and proposes the accomplish methods. To apply federated integrated technique on VCIP, the thesis redesigns the user agent, datasource agent and center control agent in prototype system and accomplishes the federated integrated system structure on VCIP, balances each agent's loads. The improved VCIP II system in deed provides an alternating platform for user to integrate multi datasources and aggregate query results from multi datasources. Finally , VCIP's information integrated technique is applied to ITS Common Information site, an experimental unit system which aggregates the abundant traffic information sources from Road Transportaion Supervising Platform . This realization further proves the feasibility of VCIP in ITS.
