With the development of power system, the requirement of the reliability is higher and higher. Distributed online temperature monitoring system studied in this paper can monitor HV device in the real-time way, and can cut off the failure circuit so as to implement protecting function.In this paper, the design of software and hardware in distributed online temperature monitoring system is studied mainly. The system includes upper unit, middle unit and three remote terminal units (RTU). Middle unit and RTU communicate with each other via infrared in order to restrain the Electromagnetic Interferece (EMI). Then, upper unit communicates with middle unit by RS-485, which can realize the remote communication.On PC Visual C++ programs the software while the software of middle unit and RTUs which are all controlled by 89C52, is realized by assembly language. In the paper serial communication including infrared communication and RS-485 are introduced. The paper studies nonlinear problem caused by temperature transducer and takes the corresponding measure from hardware and software. In the software,piecewise linear interpolation is adopted for decreasing the nonlinear error.This paper also discusses the EMI, and gives the restraining methods from hardware and software, which makes the system operate normally.The experiment proves that this temperature monitoring system can operate reliably, the system also has alarm device and realizes remote monitoring and controlling.
