In routine inspections of substations, temperature monitoring of electrical equipment is very important to ensure the safe operation of equipment, equipment troubleshooting and elimination of hazards, and it plays an important role in the safe production of electric power. Practice shows that infrared (IR) thermographic inspection is the effective technical means. Currently, operating personnel has to carry out site operation to complete the tasks for IR inspection of substation equipment, and this makes it squandering time and vigour. Therefore, it is vital to develop an on-line infrared temperature measurement system, and it is helpful to change equipment trouble hunting into equipment condition maintenance.This research develops the software which could realize the function of recording, processing, displaying, alarming, printing and assistant analyzing thermal images, etc. By adopting the idea of object-orientation and modular design, selecting Visual C++and MySQL as development tools and Windows as running platform, the paper completes the software development, designs the global construct of the on-line monitoring system, and describes the design method of relational database and the data table structure of the online monitoring system.
