Information Management Of Communication Project

This article, standing on the basis of Project Management Theory and Project Information Management Theory, combining with essential characteristics of investment on modern communications project and communications project management / project information managment actuality, presented approaches on effective communications project information managment and implementation of scientific Management Information System. The communications project management possesses all the characteristics of modem project management, and its ultimate objective is to exercise reasonable and optimized control of project schedule, quality and cost within the limitation of various kinds of resources. Moreover, project management information is the key to excellent project management communication and scientific management. Therefore, effective inforamtion management of communications projects is the key to reach project management objectives. An effective and sound communications project information management requires a scientifc Management Information System (MIS) that meets the needs of modern project management, information categorization and information management. The ariticle starting with the case analysis of the construction procedure of communications infrastructure project, and through detailed analysis of construction procedures of communications infrastructure and the procedures of project management, proved that the procedures of constructing communication infrastructure can scienfically embody those procedures of project management. Through the study of management and management information, this article also discussed the contents and categories of management information that a typical communication project would cover. In the MIS case study of a communications project, improvement advices are made available following the analysis of a series of communications project MIS components such as implementation strategy, structure, information processing procedure, information path and standadized documentation management. At last, a more scientific, reasonable implementation scheme for communications project MIS that meets the requirements of both project management and project information management is broght forward.
