Design, Implementation And Test Of PM Sub-System In INMS

Nowadays, telecommunication technology develops fast and the scale of telecommunication network becomes bigger and bigger. Species and number of network equipments also increase dramatically, which lead to increasing complexity of the network. Because of lack of uniform interfaces and specifications of various network equipments, it is quite hard to construct a network management system.According to the situation of its mobile communication network and network management system, China Unicon decided to design and implement CDMA95/1X mobile communication integrated network management system in order to enhance network usage and lower network maintainance cost.The project discussed here — INMS (Integrated Network Management System) developed by Motorola for China Unicom, is a tool for China Unicom to implement network management. It can realize surveillance and statistics of network equipments. The implementation of INMS helps to increase availability of network management, achieve reasonable assignment of network resources and provide basis for network optimization.INMS system adopts distributed software platform. INMS Configuration/Fault Management function module (CM/FM), network elements access fuction module, database fuction module can work together, or installed and run on different server. At the same time, INMS can reduce communication traffic on WAN through configurating several network elements access server.
