The paper brings up two methods to construct the virtual scene which is based on the model and image rendering. By doing researches, two methods are used together, and each of technology difficulties are solved. In addition, the virtual building walk-through system is realized. It is a real-time system with true feelings and it can be run on microcomputer.The main works are detailed as follows:1. Doing the researches on elementary theory of virtual reality, which is based on the microcomputer. A whole system structure of walk-through system suites not only the finished building but also the unfinished building which is designed.2. Doing the researches on the technology to constructs panorama images which is based on the geometry model .The problem of slitless stitch while constructs panorama images based on the image rendering is solved, and the true feeling of panorama images is created.3. Doing the researches on the technology of setting nodes and pathes of the walk-through system which is based on the image rendering. Each viewpoint in this method can be allowed to revolve 360° and each path has 16 directions. Walk-through roaming causes the entire position replaced. There is a problem which the massive storage spaces is requested when sampling lenoptic function from the scene on entire position. Now, it is solved.
