The Study And Development Of Multi-User Virtual Bupt Walk-Through System

The Virtual Walk-through technology is an important content of Virtual Reality technology, it was developed in architectures junketing, game, aviation, spaceflight, medicine fastly. Because of it's important 3I characteristic immersive, intercooperations imaginative, so the other Walk-through technology has no advantage compared to it.Virtual Campus is an important application of Virtual Walk-through technology, Virtual Campus can provide virtual environment, it also can support the resource managements environment programming, campus evolution and the long-distance accessing of the real campus. So the Virtual campus will be the most important direction of informational evolution of campus.Our Virtual BUPT Walk-through has realized the multi-user database system, the user has his own account, after logging in, and he can enter the system. In the virtual environment, user can look through anywhere, and also he can talk to the other users.This paper discussed the follow contents:1. First we discussed some modeling technology, analyzed and compared the based on figure modeling and based on image modeling technology, pointed out the apply area of the two technology, then, we decided to use the mix-modeling technology as our modeling technology.2. The second, we analyzed the key technology of virtual environment intercooperation, analyzed the optimize technology of virtual environment, compared all the optimize technology then we decided use the LOD technology as our optimize technology.3.Thirdly,we analyzed the characteristic of VRML language, use the VRML language to the campus model realized the walk-through function, use the JavaScript language realized the navigation image, perfected the entire system.4. Fourthly, we analyze and realized the multi-user database system and server's development, use B/S mode as our base system structure. Founded the multi-user database, provided the intercommunion function, perfected management of the user's information function.At last, I did some basic researches by using virtual-walk technology on other field. What's more, further researches are also prospected.
