In this paper, the research area is image-based rendering virtual reality environmental navigation system, and the primary contents are fish-eye image distortion correction algorithms,image mosaic algorithms and re-projection algorithms of viewing plane of its navigation view.In the aspect of fish-eye distortion correction algorithms using Latitude-longitude projection Image, this paper deduces the mathematic basis of eliminating distortion, summarizes and proposes a efficient fish-eye image distortion correction algorithm without any marking data, which greatly satisfies the practical requests.In the aspect of image mosaic algorithms, this paper proposes a image mosaic algorithm based on the similar curve of two cont images, looking for gradient according to the column to fix the match position relationships between two images. It searches the position of characters match using two ways, character based and region based. At first, it roughly search match position, and then precisely search match position. So it can greatly decrease the amount of calculation. At last, it is realized in Matlab.In the aspect of navigation view of panoramic image, it concerns the re-projection of spherical panoramic image in the horizontal direction, it means that view spherical panoramic image by encircling 360-degree in the horizontal direction. This paper proposes that realizing perspective view of panoramic image mosaic by projecting the graphic parts of panoramic image to viewing plane in different angles of view. In the process of realization, it optimizes the algorithm by transforming the functions of square root and arc-tangent to lookup tables, which promotes the algorithm's efficiency of image rendering.
