Research On The Yishujie Of Shen Daily

The 78 years old Shen Daily is the famous medium in the field of Chinese media as well as academic circles.Shen Daily recorded the society of China from 1872 to 1949 and took part in the development of Chinese media. Nowadays,she provides lots of information to today's multiple studies.In this thesis, I study Yishujie, a literary supplement in Shen Daily, which had more than 6 years old (1925-1931). This thesis is on the base of reading all the articles in Yishujie and the other related reference books, literatures and so on.This thesis consists of five parts: introduction, three chapters and conclusion.Introduction part summarizes the meanings of researching newspapers and the present conditions of Shen Daily' research.Chapter One pictures Yishujie from the environments of newspaperdom and its features.Chapter Two talks about the nationlism which was planted into the supplement. After analyzing this discourse, I notify that the editor and some writers used Yishujie to advocate the Literature Movement on Nationalism.Chapter Three explores the reason of Yishujie's disappearance and evaluates its value. I analyze the reason from the decreasing readers, the breakup writers' group and the reform project of Shen Daily. I also point out its advantages such as attracting readers, conforming to the market as well as its negative influences made by some editor and writers.Conclusion part talks about the influences made by Yishujie on the Shen Daily including on it's following literary supplements.In the academic circles, Yishujie hasn't been studied as an individual literary supplement. I want to try my best to show this supplement and evaluate it objectively. I hope that this thesis will supply some materials to not only Shen Daily's but also the related fields' studies.
