Information grid is a system using the Grid technologies to achieve the sharing, managing of information resource and to provide information services. Researches on information grid especially about the resource model are growing popular, but still not well-rounded. This thesis is based on the research work of the Vega Information Grid, and investigates the full lifecycle of relation based information grid resource model. REVP(Relation_based EVP) resource model supports a three-layer naming scheme: effective relation, virtual relation and physical relation, formalizes dynamic mapping effective relation to virtual relation and binding virtual relation to physical relation. The main production is as following:After describing the information grid resource model, every stages of the full lifecycle are thoroughly analyzed and examined according to the principle of full lifecycle. At all the stages and theirs special context the Meta data or attribute list used by the information grid subject to operate are studied. The dynamic transition existing in the factors of resource model is studied as well.An abstract method is proposed in this thesis to express the form of the information grid object. Its format is: OLC {Operator, Data Schema, Operation, Context}. This method is sound and effective to description the full lifecycle process of the information grid object——three kinds of relation resources. Some problems about the object of information grid have been explained: on-line,real-time,no modification of code,localized effect and source autonomous.This thesis abstractly expresses every stages of the model's full lifecycle, and finds the factors that affect the productivity of the system through conversion computing. This may provide means and evidence to improve this system.These ideas are implemented in the Vega Information Grid project. They empower user to share information on emphasis of single information source and single virtual system at a lower time cost. This may be helpful to improve on the performance of the system.
