Information grid focuses on the research of enabling technologies for sharing information and application effectively and expediently on a wide-area and heterogeneous environment. The user mode of Vega Information Grid aims to enable user to uses the grid at anytime, anywhere by any device, and to achieve a high productivity service. Information Grid has the high productivity and dynamic features. Accordingly, the new evaluation approach of information grid is needed to measure these features. The evaluation approach of full life cycle evaluates the information system as a whole. This thesis applies the approach on the information Grid and uses the VEGA Enterprise Information Grid(EIG) as a case study. The result proves that the full life cycle approach can embody the advantage of grid. Further more, the thesis uses SLA(Service Level Agreement) approach to evaluate the NCICGrid which is an implementation instance of EIG. SLA can reflect the probability that an information system satisfies the uses'requirement, while the traditional evaluation approach only focuses on the peak value and average value. The contribution of the thesis can be concluded into the following aspects.Firstly, the full life cycle approach is used in the evaluation of information grid and embodies the dynamic advantage of grid.Secondly, the full life cycle productivity is proposed, which is consistent with the dynamic character of grid, and can reflect the feature of high productivity service.Lastly, the SLA approach is applied on the evaluation of information system. The SLA evaluation software is developed. The experiments are done on the evaluation of NCICGrid as a case study. Together with the traditional evaluation method, SLA can reflect the whole condition of the information system in a comprehensive way.
