With the high-speed development of video technology (including compression, transmission and storage of video signal) and VLSI, the video monitor system has been widely used in many fields. As the central part of vedio monitor system, the technology of image grab card has become more and more mature, and there are many kinds of hips that can be used in design. Among them, the image grab card based on PCI bus is the most popular product in the market because of its strength,flexibility and cheapness.In this paper the multiplexing synchronous image grab card are designed based on the analysis of the universal technology. FPGA is this image grab card's logic control center. This image grab card uses SAA7111 to translate the analogue signal to digital image data. After buffering in an FIFO RAM the data are read into computer by a universal PCI interface chip, PCI9052. Finally the images are displayed on screen.First the paper introduces the whole project of the image grab system. Then the paper introduces the three modules'design based on the analysis of system work principle and chip's character. These modules include data collecting module, logic controlling and data transferring module, PCI interface module. We devise the theoretical image. Then taking into account the performance of antijam and the global distribution of lines, the printed circuit is designed. At last, we introduce how to simulate I2C bus to initialize SAA7111 using FPGA; Then we introduce how to program the driver in VxD.We simulate the state controlling and data transfers on PCI interface, and analyse the result of experiments.
