Design And Realization Of The Image Grab Card Based On PCI Bus

Vision is the most important sense of human being, is also the main source of information acquired by people from external world. Video information has affected human being's lifestyle and development of society more and more. Fast development and inter pervasion of modern electronic technology, computer technology and communication technology speed the development and application of video technology. As an important component of image acquisition system, image grab card can implement the acquiring, transferring and processing of image. It is one of the key technologies of image acquisition technology.In this paper, actuality and developing trend of the image grab card all over the world are analyzed firstly. At present, because of its strong and flexible functions and low price, the image grab card based on PCI bus has been the main product in the market. This paper implements the whole design of image grab card based on PCI bus, and discusses the hardware design, driver design and PCB circuit design of this system in detail.The hardware design of image grab card based on PCI bus mainly includes two modules: one is the image acquisition circuit. SAA7130HL chip of PHILIPS Company is selected as the main chip to implement the decoding and digitization of video signals with a few other components. The other module is PCI bus interface circuit. PI7C8150B chip of PERICOM Corporation is used to finish transmission of the image data. The driver of this card is programmed by WinDriver tool. The DriverWizard in WinDriver is used to produce the frame of user program, then functions the system needed are added to the application. PCB circuit is designed with software Protel99 SE according to the design rules and measures of antijam.In sum, this paper implements the design of image grab card based on PCI bus and this card provides excellent hardware and flexible software interface for image acquisition and transfer. This image grab card has the sky-high practicality and could apply to many image grab fields.
