Video is an important means for people to obtain information. In order to obtainvideo data, it is necessary for the acquisition of image data. As the core of the videocapture system, the design of the video capture card is very important. Video capturecard which based on PCI bus with its superior performance become the marketmainstream products. The multi-channel video acquisition system through the paper isdeveloped based on the video capture cards which based on the PCI bus technology. Itconsists mainly of two parts-driver and software. The system can grab image datathrough the image grab card and its driver and send to application control software realtime in order to display or save.According to the needs of the eye tracker project, this paper studies the technicalknowledge of the PCI bus protocol as well as the driver and application development.The upper application control software which based on the needs of specific projectsuse multi-window display, the concept of modular programming, multi-threaded, anddynamic link library to achieve a two-way video displayed in real time. Aftercomparing the advantages and disadvantages of various driver programmingtechniques before, we select to use DriverStudio3.2development tools to develop theunderlying driver. This method is easier than using the DDK to develop WDM driver.It is very easy to master difficult and less error. Debugging process is very simple.Finally, we debug the entire system and test the stability of its work. System achievethe design requirements, its dual acquisition frame rate up to60fps,PCI maximumtransfer rate up to80MB/S.
