| As the wireless communication business growing, ordinary voice services cannot satisfy the increasing demands of clients, while the offering of new value add-on services (VAS) is becoming the main approach to attract clients and improve average revenue per unit(ARPU). Since the SMS got under way in 2001, the VAS of PHS has started up countrywide. The introduction of VAS has improved the brand effect of PHS, thus given the PHS operation business the broader development space.The value add-on services provided by the VAS system of CNC Shenyang including SMS, Internet connection business, C-mode business and the prepared locating service. This system makes it a happy experience for CNC Shenyang PHS clients when using the short message application, wireless internet surfing, e-mail receiving and dispatching and locational infomation query. The communication scope of clients has been expanded, while the cost of operation has been greatly reduced, and using and maintenance of system became simpler and more convenient. The locating system and the application system based on the locational infomation are important parts in the VAS system, since the accurate locational infomation is often needed by mobile clients, especially in emergency.This paper firstly presented the architecture of the VAS platform of CNC Shenyang, and explained in detail the workflow and principle of the SMS, C-Mode, data business and CDR system in this system. Then based on the work that the author has participated in during the system construction, this paper discussed the design and implementation of locating system based on VAS platform and gave an algorithm adopted by locating system.The VAS based on PHS has strong superiority in technology and market, its application and spreading can expand the consume level of the wireless clients, give returen of investment(ROI) a speedup, and furthermore, develop the new market hopefully, bring a new growth of clients. |
