With the development of 3G networks and MMS phones being more and more popular, a new kind of message service called multimedia message service (MMS) appears which can further promote the information service performance in the existing short message foundation. MMS added-value service is a new kind of a mobile added-value service, most of its product is MM information which can provide more information compare with short message is the new growth point of mobile added-value service. The platform of MMS is the interface between service provider (SP) and MMS center (MMSC). It is the storage media and service logical unit of MMS. High efficient and security of platform is the key to realize the service, so to research the MMS value-added service system has practical vital significance. This dissertation design the system based on SOAP. It overcomes the shortcoming of hard expanding which based on TCP/IP. It makes the system more flexible, strong and can access different Systems.In the beginning, this dissertation introduces the project background, subsequently analyses the structure of the MMS networks. Then gave a description of the MMS value-added services include the protocol procedure, interface analysis, message form of MM7, the basic concepts, advantage and message framework of SOAP. Following, describes the design and implementation of the platform and finally expansion the subject. The emphasis of dissertation is how to design the MMS Gateway and the research of compression technology to promote the system transmission efficient.This system include MMS gateway and core database. MMS gateway primarily communicates with MMSC (MMS center) and exchanges data from internal database. It can be divided into sending gateway and receiving gateway. The sending gateway gets the MMS from database and delivers it to MMSC and realizes the other functions such as Authentication. The receiving gateway receives the MMS and realizes the business logic according to the information received. The functions of core database mainly include data routing, storage etc.This thesis has completed system requirement analysis, design, module programming and debugging, then researches the compression method in SOAP data transmission, and finally arrive at a conclusion that the method can improve the efficiency on the condition of bulk data transmission.
