BOSS (Business & Operation Support System), which enables the integration of telecom operators and the sharing of information among them, is an significant component of the telecommunication system. With the development of the market and the growing competition in it, a great variety of new services emerge, among which value-added data services especially experiences a rapid growth. Existing BOSS system has become insufficient to support all these continually emerging services.By introducing the concepts, architecture, functional partition and analyzing the problems of the existing BOSS system, this paper gives a definition of DBOSS, which is the extension of the BOSS system, concealing difference of the data services, relieving the work load on the BOSS system, providing higher response speed and more flexible support for new data services.Chapter Two and the following give detailed description of the design and implementation of the DBOSS system. First, with primary design principles and functions described, a general overview over the DBOSS system is given. Then the design philosophy is studied with emphasis. DBOSS takes the three-level architecture, and adopts the structure along with the General Message middleware, all of which promise the flexibility and expansibility. With elaborate service independent process modules which could be conveniently combined to form service handling logic, DBOSS is capable of dealing many kinds of...
