In this environment, which market is competing intensely, every corporation takes up with quickening the productions design, improving the capability and quality, shortening the launch time, reducing the cost. Certainly, communication equipment market is the same. Communication equipments have many kinds and the configuration has the similarities. So, it is adaptive to adopt the technology of rapid and virtual design.Rapid and virtual design technology of communication equipment is studied in this paper. In the meanwhile, a system for rapid and virtual design is designed. The main contents of the paper are as following:1. The rapid design technology, virtual design technology and finite analysis are summarized. The general design situation of communication equipment, the background of the research work and the main contents of the paper are stated.2. Modular design is adopted in the rapid design technology aiming at the characteristic of communication equipment. The implement strategy and frame model of rapid design system, the definition and character and contents of modular design are introduced. The communication equipment has been modular designed.3. Software Pro/Engineer is used for virtual design in this paper and is introduced, parameterization design based on Pro/Engineer is stated.4. Intelligent switch power supply is designed using rapid and virtual technology; include the appliance of family table and Pro/PROGRAM, the quadratic development of Pro/TOOLKIT. The model of intelligent switch power supply is designed by Pro/Engineer, part library and communication equipment and gear are developed quadratic.5.Software ANSYS is used for finite analysis of intelligent switch...
