Liu Xiaochuo is an important poet in the Qi Liang period. He is the bestcandidate to research the evolution of literature from Yong Ming style to Gong Tistyle and the literary condition from Tian Jian to Pu Tong of Liang dynasty. However,academic studies haven't done enough to sort out his work carefully and to doresearch systematically. Hence, this thesis aims to make it up in this aspect as toprovide some information for further study. The paper is the first detailedcomprehensive study to Liu Xiaochuo's works till today.This paper constitutes three parts. The first part is preface which introduces atfirst in brief Liu Xiaochuo's life, his character and his work, and the second thechecking work of the thesis, the third comments on the content and artistic features ofhis poetry, at last concise and to the point introduces Liu Xiaochuo and thecompilation of Wen Xuan and his literary thought. The second part is the main body ofthis paper. In this part the writer collected Liu Xiaochuo's poems and articles andcollated, tested to order the works and made annotation by traditional ways. The thirdpart is appendix including the chronicle of Liu Xiaochuo's life and the materialcompilation on them written by the past age's writers. In order to conclude it exactly, Ihave done textual research about Liu Xiaochuo's life and his works.
