Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) is short-range wireless network consisting of densely deployed large number of sensor nodes with different specs and functions. Each sensor node has ability of apperceiving, computing and communicating, they form a network through ad-hoc mode. The sensor node periodically collects environment data and sends processed data or information to sink. Sensor network can apperceive, inspect and gather the information of a given object or enviorment through wireless communication between each node.Wireless sensor network is very different from traditional network, the former focus on data, the latter focus on transmission of data. Recently, there appeared the WLSN and Bluetooth wireless technology drived the development of the sensor network. But now, more and more wireless sensor network for control and monitoring of family and industry require lower cost, larger battery life, more reliable and robust communications, so, ZigBee protocol emerge as the times require.In this thesis, we propose an intelligent control platform for wireless sensor network based on ZigBee protocol, introduce an integrated architecture including hardware architecture, software architecture and network interface design. We use the ZigBee protocol as the wireless network protocol of the sensor network, which can make the wireless system more reliable, cost-effective, low-power and make the architecture of network more flexible and reconfigurable. This thesis includes the following research and increation:1) How to effectively describe, analyze, store and transmit the obtained data and the information of control in the wireless sensor network.2) In terms of ZigBee protocol, how to solve the core issues - the constraint on energy in the wireless sensor network.3) Two-layer wireless communication board which is cost-effective is designed and implemented, which works in 2.4Ghz for ZigBee?.4) A platform based on the ZigBee protocol for distributing wireless sensor network is developed. A wirelss network, which has router nodes, is established. So as to pave the way for further developing of applicablesystem for long-distance control and monitoring based on wireless communication.
