With the development of office automation system (OAS) with the networkin a department in Lanzhou Military Area, the article focuses on thecomplete solution to OAS based on the network. The author introduces thedominating techniques, involved in the development of the modern OAS,through several processes as the analysis of the operation requirement,the design of the system and the development of function modules.The article begins with an introduction to the current state of thedevelopment of OAS in our country and the functions it is supposed to fulfill,as well as the author's personal opinions of the developmental orientationof OAS.Then the author makes a brief presentation to NET development platformand an analysis of the advantages of this platform. Besides, two kinds oftechnologies adopted in developing OAS are explained in detail.In the following chapters, the article centers on a detailed analysisof the office demand for the military supply system, a concrete flow ofthe operation and a breakup of systematic functional modules. Accordingto the principle of the database construction, the author lays out thedatabase framework, designs and realizes OAS based on a local area networkinside the military area, employing modern OAS techniques and using NETas a platform.Because of the speciality of the using environment of the system, inthe sixth chapter, the author probes into the security system of the OASwith the network, involving the current solution to the network security.He gives prominence to security as the basement for the development anduse of the system by strengthening the system of status identification andthe administration of the keys.The seventh chapter is about the operational environment, style andtesting process of OAS.In the end, the author presents his personal opinions about the OASdevelopmental orientation and the problems still existing in its usingprocess.
