Graphical simulator of Chinese water-ink painting is the combination of the developmentof computer graphics and Chines water-ink painting. There is far-reaching influence no matterin science or on the artistic aspect. Water-ink diffusion and multi-stroke superposition are themost important artistic effects, and are the most difficult problems not solved yet. This paperput forward a physical-based water-ink model, which offered a new train of thought ofsolving them.This water-ink model includes two major parts: the model of diffusion effect and themodel of physical simulator. The former has explored into the natural law of the diffusionphenomenon deeply, and has analysed in terms of physics the fibre structure of the diffusioncarrier and the diffusion mechanism of the particle. Thus a diffusion effect with typicalcharacteristic is summarized, and a curve graph of particle distribution is figured out. Theseresults have established a theoretical foundation and a simulation goal for this paper's work.After abstracting the main attributes and behaviors from the entity and proceedings aboutwater-ink diffusion, the latter builds up simulation model to get diffusion results finally.The model of physical simulator is the core part of this work. It has three parts: papermodel, diffusion model and color model. Paper model, regarding paper-cell as the base unit, isformed by fibre-block and fibre-buddle. And paper model have been added structure textureand background texture, becoming the diffusion carrier. With a particle equation as foundation,considering the driving function and restriction function of water diffusion to ink diffusion,diffusion model set up a set of diffusion mechanism, and divide ink diffusion into flow-waterink diffusion and static-water ink diffusion. In addition, water evaporation is also consideredto terminate the diffusion procedure quicky. Ink deposit introduced to this model, is tosimulate the filtration function of paper caused by coarseness of ink particles on the one hand,and the more important thing is to unify multi-stroke superposition into diffusion which issimulated by one argorithm. Color model introduces KM model into the research field ofChinese water-ink painting. It's used to calculate the mixed color of colored ink particles, andto complish the display of painting results.This paper is to the simulation of the diffusion procedure, but not merely the diffusioneffect on surface layer. This makes the simulation effect more natural and authentic.Parameters introduced into models carry on the control of the diffusion procedure from allrespects. By adjusting these parameters, models can realize the various diffusion result.
