Drinking water safety not only is beneficial to people's livelihood, but also is important to the construction of harmonious society, and is related to the implementation of scientific outlook on development. In recent years, with the rapidly economic development and the acceleration of industrialization, water pollution incidents occur frequently and are serious threats to residents' drinking water safety and sustainable development of society.In order to reduce economic losses and environmental hazards caused by water pollution incidents, simulation of pollution diffusion is of great necessity. Proper measures can be taken to reduce the impact of the pollution according to the simulation results. As existing simulation platforms of water environment are commonly confined in local service and deficient for internet utilities, a remote simulation technology based on multi-models for pollution dispersion incidents is adopted. The main achievements are listed as follows:(1)Water environment remote simulation system is established by Web technology, database technology and geographic information technology. It is consisted of task management, simulation pre-processing, simulation analysis and simulation result processing. Remote simulation service model is established to help users to optimize resources allocation, improve simulation efficiency and realize the sharing of simulation results.(2)Hydrodynamic model and water quality model are established by Fluent model, Mike model and MATLAB model. These models are calibrated according to the historical hydrological data and meteorological data for the simulation of pollutant diffusion. As simulation software is different from each other, an interface is developed to connect them with water environment remote simulation system. The pollution dispersion results of different software are compared.(3)As water environment is complex, simulation result and actual value maybe have an error. Dynamic early warning technology is adopted to improve calculation precision of the model. As most of remote simulation systems are based on html which is not good at data processing, Flex technology is adopted to provide an interface between simulation result data and GIS, achieving water quality diffusion process under the background of GIS.
