Under the environment of market economy, enterprises of manufacturing industry are obliged to improve their competitiveness by reducing the costs of production, improving the quality of the products, what is of more importance is to be sensitive to the market and have a convenient marketing channel. In such a case the traditional supply chain system cannot match enterprises'development. In order to suit the new circumstances and market demand that enterprises of manufacturing industry are facing, this subject is devoted to researching and developing a set of supply chain platform facing to small and medium-sized manufacturing enterprises based on Web. During demand analyses stage, in order to get the firsthand materials of producing, supplying and sale, investigations were taken on spot in several manufacturing industries enterprises in both Wuhan and Wuhan-rim areas. Meanwhile, by studying the theory of supply chain and analyzing some existing homothetic systems both at home and abroad, some development and improvement for the existing homothetic systems has been made. This forms a whole set of Supply Chain Management system solution based on Web. The key of this systematic solution lies in sending and receiving orientable message in enterprises. This system may help enterprises to remove unnecessary information based on the characteristic of each enterprise, in another word, the messages that each enterprise got is the one that had been filtered by the system. With the orientable message mechanism, enterprises may choose their own suppliers and customers on the Internet, which is an ample information resource. What's more, with the help of the trade tool offered by this system, enterprises may finally carry on commercial activities. To realize this function, the main platforms that have been adopted are ASP. NET and SQL Server of Microsoft, and the structure of the whole system adopts three-layered systematic framework, namely, Web layer, business entity layer and datum layer. This kind of structure has no need of installing the client-side. Thus the business stuff could run the operation whenever they are online, by simply using any Internet browser. The prototype system of this platform has already been finished at present, and agreements were signed for a trial with enterprises such as the Eastern Steam Turbine Factory,Wuchang Shipbuilding Company, etc. and the platform has been tested as a combined system with the practical datum of enterprises.
