With the coming of networking era, all the roles in the supply chain such as producer, supplier and user are closer to each other. Electronical Commerce (EC) is developed firstly and focused in the product having been produced and the reform of original trade process with the networking. Then CPC, short for Collaborative Product Commerce, come into being with the development of EC. The kernel of CPC is to provide a communication platform for those roles in the supply chain. In this way, the value increment of products is realized. The research of CPC, however, is in its infant stage, especially in China. So it is meaningful to do research on the exchange methods of product information, which is fundamental to CPC.The exchange technology used here is Web-oriented, which is the international tendency nowadays and convenient for users. The XML, a standard format for data exchange between inter-enterprise applications on the Internet, is also choosed to represent and exchange the product information. At the same time, IGES, a standard format for graphics files of three dimensions and standard interface for leading CAD applications, is used here to transfer graphics information of products. The research engaged in this thesis goes into details as following:1. The design of a special markup language for product information: Based on XML, PiML and FpiML are designed to facilitate the exchange of product information. The documents under the control of PiML and FpiML can be published through Web and used as an interface between CAD applications.2. The development of IGES_Proc, an ActiveX control for graphics processing: A module of graphics processing is adopted and perfected to develop this IGES_Proc with the application of Visual C++ 6.0. This control can be embeded into Web or other container applications.3. The use of PiML, FpiML and IGES_Proc in the Web: Some basic sheets in XSL, which is matching with PiML and FpiML, are worked out and can be utilized by programmers in Web applications; The Digital Signature Technology is brought into operation for IGES_Proc; Some optimized steps are adopted to facilitate the transfer of graphics information. In the end, a prototype system, which imitates a Website of an enterprise, is framed to validate the thoughts and methods presented in this thesis.
