Science communication is a great proposition of our country under the guidanceof "invigorating the country through science" strategy. As one of the most powerfulmodern media, television, with its characteristics of being vivid, lively and havingstrong appeal, fast speed of communication and broad coverage, etc, stronglyinfluences modern people's thoughts, ideas, and life. So How to utilize televisionmedium to communicate science has been the hot topic in academic circles.Concerning the research on the creation of Science and Educational TV Programs, alot of academic experts have proposed some significant thinking, and creators ofScience and Educational TV programs also accumulate much practical experience incommunicating science in creating activities.However, at present, the embarrassing situation of Science and Educational TVprograms in our country can be summarized by "applauds without attracting a largeaudience, universal without popular", and such phenomena as having low audienceratings, little influence and narrow scope of TV reception, etc, are widespread in theseprograms, which have been puzzling many researchers and creators. Taking these intoconsideration, the author revolves around the cores of three great values----"the true,the good and the beautiful", beginning with the questionnaire survey and theinterview investigation. Then this thesis analyzes the investigation and currentsituations of creation, and compares Science and Educational TV Programs betweenChina and western countries in pursuit of the root reason for the ratings and creatingsituations from both cultural and aesthetic angles. And it's also hoped to offer somereference for creators of Science and Educational TV programs to explore the creationroute with Chinese characteristics.This thesis mainly sets off its exposition from the following several respects:The investigation of ratings and analysis of Science and Educational TVPrograms with Chinese characteristics is the first part of this thesis.This part is an investigation report, and the current ratings situation of Scienceand Educational TV programs in our country is investigated and analyzed. The figureis dull, but the information contained in the figure is lifelike. The investigation revealsthat the audience in our country prefer watching "good and beautiful" programs to theprograms of "pursuing truth", especially Science and Educational TV Programs, andthey generally lack the aesthetic sense of science beauty, which is the prominentcharacteristic of Science and Educational TV Programs in our country.The creation situation and the root analysis of Science and Educational TVPrograms with Chinese characteristics constitute the second part of this thesis.On the basis of the previous investigation, the creation situation of Science andEducational TV Programs in our country is further analyzed in this part. The creationtendency of "striving for good", instead of "pursuing truth" reflects the creationcharacteristic of Science and Educational TV Programs in our country.The part, by comparing Science and Educational TV programs between Chinaand western countries, seeks the root reason for the ratings and creation situationsfrom both cultural and aesthetic angles. And actually, the root reason for theaudience's reception tendency toward "good and beautiful" and the preference to"striving for good" in Science and Educational TV programs lies in the "good"cultural tradition in China. This part also agrees with the notion that " Science may beappreciated", and thus provides theoretical basis for Science and Educational TVPrograms to develop the audience's aesthetic sense of science in our country. Thecomparative analysis of cultures and aesthetics between China and western countriesconstitutes the research focus and core of this thesis.Exploration and analysis of the creation route of Science and Educational TVPrograms with Chinese characteristics is the third part of this thesis.This part mainly includes the following three parts: "The Development Processof Science Communication in Our Country ", "Exploration of the Multiple Creationof Science and Educational TV Programs in Our Country" , and "Analysis of theCreation Route of Science and Educational TV Programs in China". With a historicalreview of science communication in our country, this part mainly analyzes themultiple exploration of the creation of Science and Educational TV Programs inaspect of content and form recently in our country. And based on this, the thesisexplores the creation route of Science and Educational TV Programs in our country ,from angles of the creation idea and skills.Whether the science communication has good effects or not is the problem ofcreation idea. Whether the program has good quality or not is the result of creationskills. In aspect of creation idea, the creation of Science and Educational TV programsin our country should withhold taking "pursuing truth" as the core, and respect the"good" cultural tradition in our country, as well as giving due attention to theaudience's "good and beautiful" reception psychology. In aspect of creation skills, thecreation of Science and Educational TV Programs should pursue truth through theexpression of science beauty and other artistic forms, that is, to enhance theappreciation ability of the audience for science beauty, and raise the aesthetic habit forscience beauty of the audience and inspire interest of the audience in seeking truth,and thus to enhance the audience's scientific quality in its real sense.In a word, if the Science and Educational TV Programs are such an entity oftaking "true" as the back, "good" for the flesh and blood, "beautiful" for meridian,then the creation of them is a process of taking "pursuing truth" by unifying "strivingfor good" and "achieving beauty", which is the creation route of Science andEducational TV Programs in our country. The analysis and discussion of the creationroute of Science and Educational TV Programs is the foothold and also major findingsof this thesis.In summary, through the analysis of ratings investigation, the current creationsituation, the root reason for that and a series of explorations on the creation ofScience and Educational TV Programs in our country, this thesis is hoped to providecertain reference for the developing Science and Educational TV Programs in ourcountry. "A journey always starts with the first step." A lot of stones are needed topave the way for the development of Science and Educational TV Programs needs alarge number stone to pave, and the author hopes this thesis to become one of them.
