Telco Industry encounters the rapid-changing operations environment, which makes it urgent to innovate in its old Operation Support Systems. In order to solve the problems that OSS rebuilding is facing, NGOSS is presented by TeleManagement Forum as a standard guideline. As a proven implementation of NGOSS, OSS/J defines a set of standard core APIs with their specifications and reference implementations to facilitate the deployment and integration of the system components, which as a result ends the low-efficiency and high-cost integration nightmare of Telco Industry. It is believed that OSS/J is an efficient way to accelerate the development of the New-Gen OSS solution. The paper focuses on the research of OSS/J APIs, and applies OSS/J Service Activation API to an eTOM-based Service Provisioning System, according to the principle of NGOSS and OSS/J.The structure of this paper is illustrated as follow:First, NGOSS and OSS/J theory is introduced, and a brief introduction of J2EE technologies used by OSS/J is given.Second, OSS/J specification is studied and presented, including OSS/J design patterns, the specification of OSS/J SAAPI and its reference implementation. Finally, based on the foregoing research, an eTOM-based Service Provisioning system and the application of SA API are analyzed and designed. Taking DSL Service as an example, the reference implementation of SA API is extended to support the DSL service, and an illustration of a DSL Service Order creating process is presented with certain guidance.
